Originally founded in early 2006 by up and coming horror author, Brian Fatah Steele, HAU began as something of a pass time and a group where unknown authors could come and chat about their stories, even post a few for review. Since then it has gained over 100 members, not just authors but also filmmakers, artists, and musicians.

Now, almost two years later, headed up by one of the original members, Matthew J. Leverton, Horror Authors United is stepping into the forefront and releasing its very first issue of HAU. The magazine is currently released through Lulu.com, with three more issues already planned out. By the year 2009, HAU will be releasing an anthology of their sickest pieces under the title "R.I.P (Rot In Pieces) a.k.a Rotten Pieces" Although this is just the beginning, HAU is growing slowly but surely and before long, they will be releasing underground merchandise, calendars, posters, and so much more.
